Ok firstly you can't get a free download for windows xp professional, i think you can for front page though.

I have Norton 360, and i've used Norton Internet Security in the past, I'd say Norton 360 is better because there is a PC clean-up feature, and 2gb online back-up.

1 year protection for up to 3 pc's mean that you can use your Norton 360 disk on 3 different computers.

P.S don't listen to people that say 'OMG don't get Norton get (anti-virus program) its much better' i've had Norton for 4 years and its not gone wrong.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.

Second, you pronably do have a nasty spyware infection. Get a good piece of antispyware software and see what you can get removed. Download ad-aware or spy-bot search and destroy to remove the pesky spyware, then find a good program that PREVENTS spyware. Spybot and Ad-Aware don't prevent, they just remove. I would reccomend Webroot Spysweeper, it is great software for prevention and removal both.

i suggest you dont get one, especially the ones for free. what anti-virus does is that it just brings more virus, trojens, whatever you wanna call them, all kinds of things to your computer just to show that their anti-viruses can pick up these stuff. I've been using no antivirus whatsoever for more than 3 years i would say and i never ever got a virus or anything to mess up my computer. the only thing that i was using was a simple little software called ad-aware that you can search on google or yahoo. don't think im advertising anything here, it just worked for me. well, its your choice, its the people's choice
