How can I improve download speed of messages with attachments?

Outlook is incredibly slow when dealing with messages with large attachments. I used outlook express until about seven months ago. The speed there was better, but still not very good.

I use AVG free edition antivirus. It is set to inspect incoming messages. I turned off the outgoing scanner as it crippled the programs at times.

Is this something caused by AVG, or would it be the same with a different antivirus solution?

I have a virus problem an somebody help me?

i am 13 years old and my father is a verybad man and i dont have any money to pay an antivirus program . I need a free full antivirus or antispyware because i am infested with the Trojan virus i scanned the computer with the NOD32,Adware-SE and Spyware Blaster but no succes.When i start the windos explorer i dont see my default page, i see a website safety security or something like that and he told me that i have a virus and i have files exposed on the internet such as System32,Program files and other files.They said that i need some update or patch but it doesnt work yesterday i tried to download the update but it says that Page cannot be displayed. what should i do i need to get this virus out of my computer but how?

First of all, one of the easiest wey to stop online attacks is, STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER. Ever noticed that add ons can be attached to that particular browser only. As well it uses ActiveX controls, whether you need it not. which allows your computer to be identified. Both Netscape and the latest versin of Firefox gives you the option to use ActiveX when it's actually needed.

Secondly, I would not recommend AVG to anyone. It's crappy and useless. Iknow from having to deal with repairs on infected systems that ran AVG. I would recommend AntiVir Personal edition, whic 100% free, updates and all. http://www.free-av.com.

Norton will not uninstall itself if running. Right click on the taskbar icon and select disable. Then go into the control panel/Program and Features. Select the Update first, and uninstall. Then select Norton and uninstall.

Some days there are no re-login requests from Yahoo. Most days, I will get many ... sometime 3 or more in a row with no chance to visit the inbox in-between. Purging cookies did not help. It got worse at about the time I upgraded to IE 7, so I went back to FireFox. I am having the problem with it, too. I have not recently changed antivirus (AVG free), firewall (ZoneAlarm Pro) nor changed by security settings. I cannot continue to use Yahoo unless I can get this resolved. I do have antispyware installed, but the resident components are disabled. (WinXP SP2 w/all updates)

Yahoo has been having major server issues since at LEAST Jan. 10, seemingly just with particular servers. And what's happening to you is unfortunately one of the many problems that people are having because of them, and Yahoo doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry to solve them. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.

I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since Jan. 10, and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.
